Jason Derulo started trending last night after he seemingly fell down a flight of stairs at the Met Gala.
Photographs of the 'epic tumble' were quickly shared on Twitter appearing to show him going flying in a white suit as two security guards try to help him up.
Twitter users got all excited about the 'drama' and one posted: "Jason Derulo just fell at #MetGala. LMAO," while another added: "IM CRYING JASON DERULO JUST DIED."
But not only did the Caucasian chap in the snaps look NOTHING like the hitmaker, the photographs were also taken at a totally different event - Cannes Film Festival in 2011. Oh, Twitter, you do love to fool us.
A number of reporters were tricked by the viral image and decided to run with the story before realising their mistake. Oops.
Although Jason DID suffer a serious neck injury in 2012 after taking a tumble during a rehearsal, he saw the funny side of the online joke and decided to let everyone know he was alright.
He shared a snap of himself on Twitter and Facebook holding a microphone with the words: "Da F**k" across the top, along with the caption: "Lmao I'm at rehearsal in LA. Fuq ya'll! Lol."
At least he has a sense of humour, and he ended up getting some attention without even attending the event, that's pretty good going.
