Less than 24 hours after Chris Brown was named an official suspect in a violent fight in Las Vegas over the weekend, the man who accused Brown of punching him during a basketball game has dropped the battery charge. As a result, Las Vegas police have confirmed that they have closed the criminal case, and Brown is in the clear.
Brown allegedly punched the victim while playing a game of basketball, and a police spokesperson said in a statement, "A verbal altercation on the court led to a physical fight and the victim was punched by another male subject who was later identified as 25-year old recording artist Chris Brown. The victim prepared to defend himself and was then hit by another male reportedly with Brown."
At the time authorities gave Brown the option to sign off on a misdemeanor battery citation after failing to locate him.
